Georgia took part in the 25th Global Symposium of Regulators (GSR-25)

Commissioner at National Communications Commission of Georgia Ekaterine Imedadze and Chief Expert on International Relations at Georgian National Communications Commission Mzia Gogilashvili took part in the 25th Global Symposium of Regulators (GSR-25).


The symposium was organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Saudi Arabian Commission for Communications, Space and Technology (CST).


During the event, the Commission met with the heads of regulatory authorities from India, Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as with representatives of leading telecom companies such as Amazon Kuiper, Globalstar and Plan S.


During the event, representatives of the Commission on At GSR-25, special attention was paid to the consideration of such issues as: ways to accelerate sustainable digital transformation; methods for collecting data necessary for the development of the digital economy and stimulating innovation; creating a framework for cooperation in the direction of sustainable digital transformation; the impact of submarine infrastructure, optical channels and satellite networks on the development of sustainable communications; strengthening public trust in new technologies and developing strategic approaches for regulators in this area; protecting consumer privacy and data and holding regulators accountable; creating an inclusive and fair digital ecosystem; developing media literacy and digital skills, etc.


GSR is a platform that brings together policymakers, telecom operators, industry representatives, agencies and regulators working on telecommunications and digital transformation issues from different regions of the world and aims to share best practices in regulating sustainable digital development.
