Uzbekistan has approved the Technical Regulation "On Restricting the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products"

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved the Technical Regulation "On Restricting the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products." (No. 517 of August 15, 2025). The Regulation, which comes into force on 15 February 2026, aims to restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electronics and will affect a wide range of devices, although it will contain exemptions.

Documents confirming the conformity of electrical and radio electronic products received before the date of entry into force of this technical regulation shall remain valid for the periods for which they were issued.


List of electrical and electronic products subject to mandatory conformity assessment:

1. Electrical appliances and devices for food preparation and storage, kitchen mechanisation, and other kitchen equipment

2. Electrical appliances and devices for:

processing (washing, ironing, drying, cleaning) linen, clothing, and footwear

cleaning and tidying premises

maintaining and regulating the indoor microclimate

3. Electrical appliances and devices for:

sanitary and hygienic

  • hair, nail, and skin care

  • body heating

  • gaming, sports, and exercise equipment

  • audio and video equipment, television and radio receivers

  • household sewing and knitting machines

  • gardening

  • aquariums and garden ponds

4. Power supplies, chargers, and voltage stabilizers

5. Light sources and lighting equipment, including equipment built into furniture

6. Electric toys

7. Electronic computers and connected devices, including combinations thereof

8. Cash registers, ticket printing machines, ID card readers, ATMs, and information kiosks

9. Cables, wires, and cords intended for use at a rated voltage of no more than 500 V AC and/or DC, with the exception of fiber optic cables

10. Automatic switches and residual current devices

11. Electrical devices for controlling electrical appliances

12. Telecommunications equipment (terminal telecommunications devices), including landline and mobile telephones, automated telephones, fax machines, and telex machines

13. Gaming and vending machines

14. Fire, security, and fire-security alarms

 

Technical Regulation does not apply to the following electrical and electronic products:

  • those used for national defense, law enforcement agencies, and as special technical means for operational investigative measures

  • equipment intended for use at a rated voltage exceeding 1,000V AC and 1,500V DC

  • intended for use as components of electrical equipment not specified in the list of the Technical Regulations

  • photovoltaic panels (solar batteries)

  • products intended for use in ground-based and orbital space objects

  • electrical equipment intended exclusively for use in air, water, underground, and land transport

  • electric batteries and accumulators intended for use in electrical and electronic products

  • used equipment

  • large stationary industrial equipment

  • measuring instruments

  • medical devices

  • specially designed equipment for research and development

 

Confirmation of conformity of electrical and radio electronic products with the requirements of this Technical Regulation will be carried out in the form of a declaration of conformity or certification.
